Dear Florida Legislator;

I’m sure you will agree with me that there is nothing more important than providing a strong educational foundation for our children to succeed. This issue affects everyone in our community because lack of a quality education can lead to stagnant economic growth, a continuation of the cycle of poverty and high crime rates.

As our state constitution outlines, it is vital to provide an ”efficient, safe, secure, and high quality system of free public schools that allows students to obtain a high quality education.” Unfortunately, during the last few years, public education funding has been slashed while receiving the added burden of unfunded mandates.

We ask that the state legislature provide a dedicated, sustainable source of funding for public education and cede control to local school boards on how education dollars should be spent. We hope that you will support our efforts.

Let’s not continue to cheat our children because then we all fail. Thank you for your support.
