Colleen Doherty Wood, Executive Director

Colleen was hired as the Executive Director of Save Duval Schools in June 2010.  Through her involvement with her children's schools, Colleen became aware of the extreme education budget cuts in 2007 - 08.  Never one to sit on the sidelines, Colleen founded the first statewide, grassroots public education advocacy group, 50thNoMore.org dedicated to involving parents and community members in supporting public schools.  She has worked in the private, public, and non-profit sectors and therefore brings a unique perspective to education advocacy.  Colleen received her bachelor's degree from the Florida State University and is an accomplished public speaker, trainer and advocate who strongly believes that investing in public schools is investing in Florida's future.
